New IP Desktop Phone Portfolio From snom technology

By Robbie Pleasant UC Strageties

Snom technology AG has recently announced the release of snom UC. This is the latest edition of the snom IP desktop phones, and is designed for unified communications as well as qualified for use with Microsoft Lync Server 2010.

Included in the new line is the snom 821 UC edition and the snom 300 UC edition, which are compatible with both Microsoft Lync and other SIP based PBX's, as well as the snom UC600, a USB desktop phone that works with the Lync soft client.

The snom UC600 allows users to make telephone calls from their computer as well as a handset and keypad. It comes with an embedded client for Lync 2010, providing users with simple deployment and endpoint management.

snom UC comes with two standards-based SIP phones from snom's VoIP phone portfolio. The first of them, the snom 821, offers expanded functionality for business applications, such as a high-resolution TFT color display, presence display and settings, and server side address book search, among others.

The second of the SIP phones is the snom 300 UC edition, offering an entry level IP desktop phone with advanced functionality. It comes with multiple lines, programmable keys, Lync presence, and many more features.

"Snom has been very active in having their phone devices support solutions from all of the major manufacturers, and adding qualified support on Microsoft Lync makes enormous sense," says David H. Yedwab, UCStrategies UC Expert. "It makes the choices of endpoint phone devices a richer choice for users and adds an additional decision point for both customers and channels – which phones/devices should we support."

The snom UC600 is available for $149. The snom 821 UC edition is available for $249, and 300 UC edition for $129. For more information, visit www.snom-uc.com.
