The full interview is printed below.

What is the most significant trend in communications today? Why?

In the VoIP industry, we see a growing number of service providers offering a full suite of VoIP services. This is also driving innovation and resulting in better services and costs for consumers. Mobile VoIP is emerging as the preferred communication model for long distance calls.

What is the one product or service the market is most in need of?

Consumers are increasingly looking at integrated communication solutions – so a single device or platform which allows them to communicate real-time using IP based applications, is flexible to adapt to roaming networks and offers them the cost effectiveness of VoIP. Accordingly, we are seeing service providers read consumer requirements and offer one stop solutions. True convergence is possible when all applications move over IP and we are seeing that trend today.

How is your company leveraging the growth of social media to enhance your own business?

Social media is emerging as an effective communication platform with our clients as everyone seems to be present on these platforms. We are present on Facebook (News - Alert), LinkedIn and Twitter and use them to circulate news and product updates to our existing client base.

Which wireless operating system (Android, iOS4, Microsoft (News - Alert), etc.) will see the greatest success over the next three years? Why?

For 2010-11, we see the wireless market to be still fragmented in terms of Operating Systems. In the markets where we have the largest presence, Symbian still has the largest penetration. Android is definitely gaining market share and many small & medium handset OEMs may opt for Android as the operating system.

What impact has the growth of cloud-based-services had on your business?

In past few years, we have seen an increasing demand for hosted services from our clients. We see more demand for hosted services from our SME clients as they prefer the software service provider offering one stop solutions. We currently offer all our products like softswitch, tunneling application and billing products on a hosted basis.

If you had the opportunity to decide the Net neutrality (News - Alert) debate, how would you rule?

The Internet has to be neutral and all access service providers need to accept that as a fundamental principle.

You are exhibiting at ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2010. What is the most exciting thing attendees will see at your booth?

We plan to exhibit our complete range of Mobile VoIP & softswitch solutions. iTel Mobile Dialer Express, a VoIP application for mobile which is being used by more than 1200 service providers across the world and our secured softswitch product ‘iTel Switch Plus’ will be the primary products on display. We also expect the soft launch our a new application at ITEXPO 2010.

What is the one technology development that will have the greatest impact in 2011?

The fact that computing is moving to smaller handhelds resulting in a reduced gap between PCs and smartphones, will be a big influencer on consumer devices and Internet usage.
